Our History
CBS was founded in the year 1984 by Mr. Bazlus Samad Chowdhury and Mr. Salahuddin Kasem Khan. They started with only five orphans and now the orphanage is home to about 200 girls. The institution has survived for over 30 years now with the help of its generous patrons and all its supporters who have worked relentlessly to bring it where it is today.
Our Mission
Our mission is to attend to the welfare of children in Chattogram who are orphaned, abandoned, or not supported by their parents. With the help of our benefactors, CBS provides for the girls’ basic needs of food, shelter, clothing, as well as schooling and health care, in order to create a nurturing environment for them to grow up in. In addition to that, we aim to enable these girls by giving them equal opportunities to develop and realize their full potential through proper education and a range of activities.
Our Facilities
Over the years, CBS has grown to accommodate a large number of girls and more importantly to give them access to technology and knowledge to develop themselves.
Our basic facilities consist of the girls’ dormitory, library and playground.
The education facilities include religious education, computer, sewing, dancing, handicraft, karate, cooking classes and afew other activities,.
In terms of medical care, our girls get regular health checkups and in case of more serious illnesses, they have access to local clinics and hospitals. From the day the girls step into their home at CBS, till the day they leave, they are treated with love and compassion. The orphanage also assists them with monetary assistance when they leave CBS.
